The book tells the rediscovery of a geographical microcosm of a mountain area on the border between Italy and Slovenia, where the author Davide Degano's roots lie. Through an active, critical, and conscious review of the "local," the collective memory handed down to the inhabitants who resist between these places is investigated. With an ethnographic look, starting from the forms of living, occupying nature, making community, economy, country, cultural elements, and suggestions are isolated. The publication includes texts by anthropologist Livia Raccanello and urban planner Michael Biesmann..
